IDO

IDO (Istanbul Fast Ferries Inc.) was founded in 1987 by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality in order to provide fast, comfortable, safe and alternate commuting services for the people of Istanbul. Starting off with 10 seabuses purchased from Norway, IDO has grown into one of the largest and most sophisticated seabus and ferry service in the world. 2005 was a milestone in IDO´s history, as amalgamation with City Lines Administration of Istanbul was completed and the company became the primary provider of ferry services in Istanbul and the Sea of Marmara. Carus - the ‘old’ new name in ferry reservations technology After six years as an Anite subsidiary Carus is once again trading as an independent company. At 4pm on Tuesday 5th February 2008 the management and staff of the Finish subsidiary Anite Travel Systems Ab Ltd successfully completed the buy back of the successful business unit. Carus entered the ferry solutions market in 1998 with the launch of CarRes, its Oracle based booking, ticketing, check-in and administration system for ferry operators geared very much to the specific needs of Baltic operators. Since then CarRes has been constantly evolving and serving an ever growing client base which now also includes operators in the UK, mainland Europe, the United States and Australia.
