The annual Interferry conference comes to the Middle East for the first time in 2012. Few cities have undergone such rapid transformation as today's Dubai. This year, we are expecting a record number of delegates to attend. Our President and host, the Roads Transport Authority has announced that they will be subsidizing the delegate fee by 50% in order to ensure a record turnout.

About Interferry
The annual Interferry conference is the longest running international event devoted to the ferry industry. For over 36 years the conference has been held in venues around the world. Interferry has grown rapidly over the past few years, now consisting of 227 member companies from 38 countries. Members include owners/operators, ship builders and designers, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, consultants, classification societies, shipbrokers, publishers and others with an interest in the ferry industry.

Interferry also represents the industry at regulatory forums. It has Consultative Status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and Observer Status at the European Community Shipowners Association (ECSA). Interferry has strong connections with other shipping associations including International Chamber of Shipping, BIMCO, the US Passenger Vessel Association, the UK Passenger Shipping Association, the Danish Car Ferry Association and the Canadian Ferry Operators Association.

Sponsorship Notes:

Exhibition Space
This year's exhibition space will be hard shelled stands. Each exhibitor will be allocated a space approximately 3 metres by 2.5 metres (10 ft x 8 ft) with a table and chairs. Exhibition space is allocated by sponsor category (Titanium, Platinum and Gold). Silver sponsor stands will be allocated after higher level sponsors and will be by date of sponsor confirmation. For 2012, there will be an additional 20 stands dedicated for Middle East exhibitors only.

Environmental Footprint
Interferry is trying to minimize the environmental footprint of the conference by reducing the amount of waste paper. This is produced mainly from the inserts into the delegate bags and the exhibition booths. We ask each sponsor to take responsibility for their left over material by taking it with them after the conference or shipping it back to their office. For material that cannot be re-used Interferry will provide collection facilities for recycling.

We recommend that sponsors limit their contribution to the delegate bag – instead of another brochure, perhaps a small gift – or put your brochure on a memory stick or CD.
